I, too, grew up on tapioca pudding, which I loved!<br /><br />What a great photo of your Nana and Pappy. I love the stone wall behind them, but I also think of the hard work involved in clearing fields to get the stone!<br /><br />I agree, there is such satisfaction in seeing the provisions of firewood, enough to last the winter. It's a great blessing to have a woodlot. That was one of my priorities when we were searching for property. I never wanted to have to BUY firewood again!<br /><br />My fall memories? Raking leaves into piles and falling down in them! Children enjoyed simple pleasures back then. Of course, I loved the pumpkin and apple pies that my mom would make, and also watched her put up her pickles and such for winter. Come Christmas time, we would open gifts of her hand-knit mittens and slippers. Fall is my favourite time of year! Happy Fall to you and your family, too ~smile~.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
